Services Provided
Assessment
Behavioural Health Care is able to provide you with two types of assessment services.
The first is a psychological assessment for treatment planning purposes. This assessment seeks to determine the client's symptom presentation, the impact it is having on their functioning, and precipitating and perpetuating factors that are maintaining the disturbance. The report outlines a treatment plan to improve functioning and assist the client to return to their pre-injury lifestyle and work, as appropriate.
We also provide Independent Psycho-Legal Assessments. These are formal psychodiagnostic assessments generated for court purposes. There is typically a review of documentation, extensive psychometric testing, several diagnotic interviews, and a comprehensive report.
TrEatment
Behavioural Health Care provides both individual and couples counselling for adults. We do not provide services to minors.
The predominant treatment approach used in psychological treatment sessions is cognitive-behavioural. However, our psychologists adopt an eclectic approach, and may integrate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Experiential therapies, as well as EMDR, mindfulness meditation, relaxation training, biofeedback, and supportive intervention techniques, as needed to assist clients.
Consultation services and workshops
In addition to assessment and treatment, we are also happy to provide consultation services on complex cases or on other questions of interest to you. Consistent with our interest in education, we are able to provide workshops to insurance and employer groups on topics of interest to them related to psychological disability and stress, the role of assessment, treatment, and challenges in return to work.

All referrals can be initiated by calling the main BHC office or by sending a referral request. It is helpful to provide a letter outlining the referral questions and concerns, as well as any recent medical information. A BHC psychologist will then contact you to discuss any further issues and concerns related to the referral.
